Ancillary

Building

The brief for this project was to provide the client with an ancillary building to use as a gym and games room, along with a place for their relatives to stay when they visited from Portugal and Northern Ireland.

We created an annex for them with two bedrooms, bathroom, gym, games room, bicycle store and double garage.

The building is situated next to a brook and has fantastic views across the existing gardens. This was exploited with a large timber glazed gable to maximise the views.

We not only designed this building but one of our architects also spent the summer quarrying the natural stone used to clad the building from a local farm. The building is highly sustainable and the whole south facing roof is clad in photovoltaic panels.
